报告摘要：
The theory of random matrices mainly concerns the statistical behavior of eigenvalues of large random matrices arising from various matrix models. There is a universality phenomenon that, like the law of large numbers in probability theory, the collective behavior of eigenvalues of large random matrices does not depend on the distribution details of entries of the matrices. In this talk, I will report our work on such phenomena for random matrices arising from linear codes.

熊茂胜，香港科技大学教授，在数论、编码密码等研究方向做出许多重要的结果，主持完成多项香港研究资助局项目，目前主持1项基金委与香港研究资助局联合项目。在《IEEE Transactions on Information Theory》、《Finite Fields and Their Applications 》、《Designs, Codes and Cryptography 》等国际期刊发表论文40余篇。

报告题目:  Combinatorial t-designs from special functions

报告摘要:

A special function is a function either of special form or with a special property. Special functions have interesting applications in coding theory and combinatorial t-designs. The main objective of this talk is to survey t-designs constructed from special functions, including quadratic functions, almost perfect nonlinear functions, almost bent functions, bent functions, bent vectorial functions, and planar functions. These combinatorial designs are not constructed directly from such functions, but come from linear codes which are constructed with such functions. As a byproduct, this talk also surveys linear codes from certain special functions.
报告人简介：

唐春明，男，博⼠，西华师范大学数学与信息学院副教授，目前在香港科技大学从事博士后研究。2012年博士毕业于北京大学。并先后在巴黎第八大学和香港科技大学从事博士后研究工作。主要研究包括密码、编码及其相关的数学理论。先后主持国家自然科学基金青年项目和面上项目各一项。发表 研究论文 40 余篇，其中 EI、SCI 检索论文30 余篇，代表性成果发表在国内外重要学术期刊《IEEE Transactions on Information Theory》、《Finite Fields and Their Applications 》、《Designs, Codes and Cryptography 》《Science China》和《China Communications》等上面。曾访问多所国内外知名院校；担任两个国际期刊的编委。
