报告人简介:
Kent W. Nixon received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013 and 2016, respectively. He later matriculated to Duke University, where he is current pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. During his time in academia, Kent's research portfolio has been centered around mobile devices, with individual works covering a wide range of topics, including power efficient computing, human-computer interfaces, security, and machine learning. These works have been published at conferences such as DAC, ASPDAC, and ICCAD, with the latter designating his work as a best paper candidate. Kent has served as lecturer for Pitt's Advanced VLSI Design course, earning scores above the department average on his teaching evaluation. He also has experience transitioning research into industry, with his "Invisible Shield" work receiving multiple business grants and winning the prestigious Kuzneski Innovation Cup competition in 2016. 报告摘要:
Mobile devices have long been a driving force in the computing industry. We now utilize these devices extensively in our daily lives, expecting continuous access to the large amounts of personal data we store on them. However, they remain limited in terms of battery and computational resources available to them at any given time. Because of this, resource-efficient methods for securing and computing with these devices are of utmost importance. In this talk, we discuss novel techniques for achieving this, with a focus on applications in the fast-growing area of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
